Connecting to the Internet

The first step in setting up your new computer is setting up and connecting to the internet. Follow these simple steps to set up the internet and connect your computer to the internet;

Setting up the Modem

1. First you must purchase a service provider. For this example I will be telling you how to setup a Rogers internet Conncetion
2. Now connect the Rogers cable cord to your motem
3. Connect the power cord to the modem and plug it into the power socket
4. Wait for the modem to boot up
5. You can now connect devices to the internety via ehernet cables, but if you want devices to connect wirelessly, follow the directions below.

Setting up the Wireless Router

1. Connect your router to your modem using an ethernet cable
2. Plug your router into a wall power socket
3. Wait for your router to boot up

Connecting the Computer to The Internet (wireless)

• Click the home button on your keyboard and search 'settings'
• In setting find 'Network'
• In Network find Wi-Fi
• In Wi-Fi find your network name and insert your password
• You now have wireless internet connection

Connecting the Computer to The Internet (wired)

• Connect a ethernet cable from your modem to your computer
• You now have wired internet connection
